Happy Holidays

Craneway Craft Fair Success

Thanks so much to all who came out to see us at the Craneway Crafts Fair! We had an amazing time, and the show was a great success. It was so inspiring to be surrounded by 200 other talented artists, designers and craftspeople.

We had never attended the show in previous years, so we went into the event without any idea of what to expect. We happened upon the show completely by chance; back in June, Ailee and I had taken a bicycle ride up along the beautiful Richmond waterfront, and happened to see people rolling garment racks full of handmade clothing into the Craneway Pavillion. On inquiry, we discovered that they were setting up for the KPFA Summer Crafts Fair (now called the Craneway Crafts Fair). We just knew that we had to get into the winter show!

We are so glad that we took the chance and applied to the show. It was wonderful being able to meet our customers face to face, and watch them fall in love with our clothing! Being a mostly online business, we don't usually get to see people try things on or feel the amazing softness of our silk, alpaca and merino knits for the first time. Some of our very favorite pieces went home with happy customers throughout the course of the weekend. It was a busy and exhausting couple of days (especially for Ailee, who was in the middle of a hectic holiday retail workweek), but it was so rewarding. We can't wait to do it again! Thanks so much to the organizers of the show, and to all of our new customers and fans.

Hope everyone has a great New Year, stay tuned for some great new designs in 2017!

We are so excited to announce that we will be attending the 46th annual KPFA benefit craft fair! The Craneway Crafts Fair features 200 experienced and emerging designers who produce handmade, one-of-a-kind art and crafts. Exhibitors handcraft all kinds of things, including jewelry, clothing, ceramics, woodwork and more.

In addition to exhibitor booths, there will also be food, live music, and a special exhibit, “Conversations in Fiber”, featuring the work of three Bay Area master quilters. All of this takes place in the gorgeous, spacious Craneway Pavillion, right along the waterfront in Richmond, CA. There will be onsite free parking, as well as a free shuttle to and from the Richmond BART station.

Coming Soon to Our Online Store

We have some great new pieces joining the Myth of the West collection this season, and are so excited to share them all with you. Our rich color palette was carefully curated by Ailee, and is right on trend with shades of lush green, dusty mauve, and rust brown.

Our new silhouettes include gorgeous drapey maxi skirts in and comfy casual sweaters in 100% silk, and our very favorite lightweight Alpaca/Silk ballet wrap sweaters. We are working on getting these items up on our website ASAP, so expect to see them sometime in the next week. If you can't wait that long, come see us at Jack of All Trades Market this Saturday!

Feels Like Fall

Fall in the Bay Area is always slightly strange. Compared to the quintessential New England Autumn that I grew up with, the season here always seems to lack the same presence. Fall in Oakland seems to creep up quietly, more like a slow blending of summer into winter than a season in itself.  Sometimes the summer seems to last until November, and other times disappears in a flash as soon as August ends.
